Build Like an Architect with Dwell.ings Modular Fort Building Kits
Dwell.ings is an architect-designed modular building system created by a mom who wanted something stronger, more beautiful, and more meaningful than ordinary fort toys. Kids naturally develop creativity, engineering skills, and design thinking while building forts, tunnels, domes, obstacle courses, and imaginative spaces they'll be proud to call their own.

Less Screen Time. More Real Play.
Finding activities that truly engage children without a screen can feel impossible. Dwell.ings keeps kids actively creating for hours while encouraging movement, conversation, teamwork, and imagination.
Endless Ways to Play & Build
One kit becomes forts, tunnels, towers, playhouses, obstacle courses, reading nooks, and more. Add additional kits to create even bigger worlds, then decorate and customize every build to make Dwell.ings uniquely your own.
Strong, Durable, & Eco-Friendly
Industrial-duty cardboard panels and reusable hook-and-loop connectors create surprisingly sturdy structures that stand up to active play while remaining lightweight, safe, and easy to rebuild again and again. Made from responsibly sourced cardboard, Dwell.ings is reusable, recyclable, and compostable!
STEM Through Play
Kids don't need worksheets to learn. Every build naturally introduces geometry, balance, spatial reasoning, engineering, and design thinking through hands-on play and experimentation instead of following rigid instructions.
Build Together. Imagine Together.
The best memories happen when everyone joins in. Whether you're designing a fort, solving a building challenge, or creating an entire world together, Dwell.ings inspires collaboration, creativity, and joyful group moments—one panel at a time.

Who are we?
Design Laughter creates architect-designed building toys that inspire creativity, imagination, and hands-on learning. We believe great design belongs in children's play and that toys should be beautiful, educational, sustainable, and fun.
Founded by architect, artist, and mom of three Carrie Shaked, Design Laughter develops innovative building systems that encourage kids and families to create, experiment, collaborate, and dream. By combining thoughtful design with responsible materials, we help children build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of making.
